Rarely in a foot surgeons career does a surgical procedure come along that truly renders a better outcome and makes patient recovery easier.
Almost always, the outcome is dependent on the surgeon performing the surgery. Although there is no procedure that can overcome poor technique there is now finally a new way to correct bunions that renders consistently excellent results. The procedure is called the Lapiplasty.
The difference between this procedure and most other bunion correction is that the instrumentation was engineered to consistently achieve near perfect results by correcting the deformity in 3 planes. It also allows the patient to bear weight on the corrected foot in 2 weeks vs. not bearing any weight for 6 weeks such as in traditional bunion surgery. In order to understand how this works please watch the video below.
For more information or if you feel you may be a candidate for this procedure please call our office for a consult with one of our surgeons.
